My Purpose
​
People often ask me how I became a formulator of skincare with plants and herbs. The answer is … there was a purpose to my life. My passion grew after a life-changing event that sent me on a journey to find that purpose. I was young and married to a soldier who was medically retired. I was in school for graphic design, but still lost on my dreams. My husband, who served 5 tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan, was just as lost after his time in the service. He was mentally and physically disabled; on multiple medications that seemed to only make the matters worse.
I was living day-by-day trying to find solutions to his health and still find my own passion. After battling years of pain, treatment, and the frustrations of life, he left this beautiful world in 2012. At the age of 26, he took his life. The pain of losing a husband at a young age put my body into shock. I was developing anxiety, PTSD, and depression, which lead me on a health journey. I realized health wasn’t just what we put IN our bodies, but what we put ON it as well. This started in my research of plants and herbs.
My obsession with living a natural lifestyle turned into creating my own hygiene and cleaning products. It was the start of something new, something with a purpose. Next thing you knew I was growing majority of the plants I wanted to use and was building something special. It has always been a dream of mine to own my own business, but never knew what it might be. After years of research, studying, and even working at a dermatologist office, I opened up Livin Off Earth. I wanted to share my passion with the world and it was my mission to help others who lost a loved one to suicide.
This all along was my purpose in life.
Learning Never Stops​

My goal is to continue learning about plants that can be beneficial to us and do some good for the planet. At the end of 2019 I went back to school and completed my Degree in Organic Skincare Formulation. There was something inside of me that wanted this business to showcase that clean healthy ingredients can help heal and protect the biggest organ of our bodies. That these ingredients not only help our skin, but also provide the right nutrients for a healthy body and mind. I am now on a mission to complete my Degree is Cosmetic Science along with a continuing education course so I can keep up to date with the latest ingredients on the market.
